PUDEL (プデル) 2009 A/W SEASON THEME
Pudel is happy to present its autumn/winter 2009/10 collection.
The autumn/winter 2009/10 collection marks a strong stylistic turnover for the label, merging Pudel's wearability with the high end appeal of the Lina Osterman line. Mixing inspiration from the 1990s grunge culture and Victorian fashion, the autumn/winter collection unfolds a new line of basics that can be layered and styled in multiple ways. Key items from the label's past have been reinterpreted - including skinny jeans and shirts with detachable collars - with treatments such as tie dye and enzine wash bringing a twist to Pudel's signature jerseys and denim.
Victorian inspirations echo in the women's collection with the introduction of bodycon lace dresses and elongated chiffon shirts. Meanwhile, menswear takes on a more minimalistic approach, with long cardigans layered over checked shirts in memory of the late Kurt Cobain.
The other elements in the collection include: slashed button-up hoodies, tie dye jeans and cotton tops with removable lapels.
Currently in its fourth year, Pudel has shown at Stockholm Fashion Week for a few consecutive seasons and at Los Angeles Fashion Week in 2007. It is currently stocked in countries including the United States, Japan, Italy, Sweden and Switzerland among others. The label's growing popularity is supported by actor and musician Jared Leto, who lists Pudel as one of his favourite brands.
Profile
A label known for its unisex take on fashion Pudel has garnered an international following for its conceptual basics and innovative treatments of denim. Launched in 2005 the London-based label is the brainchild of Lina Osterman – a former apprentice for Jens Laugesen and Martin Margiela. Following her graduation from Central Saint Martin’s in 2008 the Swedish-born designer has launched the Lina Osterman label to the great applause of press and buyers worldwide.
