フランス北部ブルターニュ地方の荒涼とした沿岸にある島で生まれ育つ。島の野生の美しさ、彼の祖母によって作られた手縫いの洋服達のエレガンスさ、そして彼をとりまいていた職人達の創作物の純真さに強く影響を受ける。

学生時代をパリで過ごし、その後伝説的なコルセットメーカーのパール氏、ティエリ－ミュグレー、ジョンガリアーノ、他様々な熟練者らから技術を習得。更なる芸術を磨く為、1988年よりディオールのクチュール部門に参加。

パリで行われた日本の伝統工芸のエキシビジョンを訪れた際、日本に恋をし、渡日を決意。
彼の想像する夢のブランド－芸術的な美の可能性を、東洋と西洋の融合・フェミニンとマスキュリンの融合によって追求する－をつくり出す為に2000年より日本に身を置く。


Patrick STEPHAN grew up on a small island off the 'savage' coast　of Brittany in the north-east of France.He was influenced by the raw beauty of the islandthe hand-stitched elegance of the clothes created by his grandmother and the purity of the objects crafted by the artisans around him.Patrick learnt his craft with masters as diverse and legendary as corset maker Mister PEARL and the　pret-a-porter collections of both THIERRY MUGLER and JOHN GALLIANO.He then went on to hone his art at DIOR COUTURE from 1998.After seeing an exhibition of Japanese craft and visiting the country he fell in love with Japan and moved here to create his dream of a brand which could explore the aesthetic possibilities of a fusion of both East and West and Feminine and Masculine.
