EK THONGPRASERT 2010 A/W SEASON THEME 『 What is "precious"? 』

Looking at any tangible object, what makes you consider something "precious"? What kind of quality would connect it to our pre-perception of preciousness? Is it something glittering, shiny, delicate, or with colours relating to precious metal, etc.?

This jewellery collection took these questions as the starting point. The collection bases on classical jewellery silhouettes, which refers to precious objects depending on wearer's historical background, from outline of crown jewel necklaces to simple forms of chains. The work maintains its original silhouette, but discarded any normally expected details.

The necklace details were blended together to form a piece constructed with facets of different shapes and angels made of color dyed fur, which creates contrast to our skin. Each piece has been deliberately enlarged to enhance its appearance.

Ek Thongprasert and Noon Passama S.

The brand was found with collaboration between fashion designer (Ek Thongrasert) and jewelry designer (Noon Passama S.) they met each other between their first degree in Chulalongkorn University one of the most prestige degree in Architecture he immediately joined one of the most famous fashion schools Royal academy of fine art in Antwerp which produced many well-known designers. And for Passama Sanpatchayapong after she graduated with adegree in industrial design she worked for a few years as produce designer in Bangkok and after that she decided to join at GerritRietveld Academie one of the most famous contemporary jewelry schoolin Amsterdam.

Concept

The essence of Ek Thongprasert's design philosophy is a strong approach toward the conceptual aspect; each collection is a complex combination of thoughts design elements which comes from deep analysis into a concept. A result is a collection with pure uniqueness and originality. Each of silhouettes in collection is totally individual and different from each other. Each silhouette tell a different message through detail color shape and cutting wihich together come a whole complete story.

Ek Thongprasert focus on a customer who knows how to appreciate unique and timeless products which the value is transmitted not only through high quality self developed materialk sophisticated handcraft and production technique but also essentially through the individual philosophy and conceptual aspect behind Ek Thongprasert's collection.
