Q1. What was the inspiration for this collection?

The inspiration for FW 2012 is the paintings of Elizabeth Peyton. The characters she portrays are modern but timeless, the clothes to match these characters are classics of the future...
A side inspiration is animals shedding skin... shedding to reveal something more fabulous underneath... Transparent fragile skin withering away...

Q2. Where was the show/presentation held?

The collection is presented to buyers on appointment at the News Showroom in NY and the Wall Showroom in Tokyo.

Q3. What sort of fabrics did you use?

Different weights of wool from super-thin to heavyweights, layered transparent organza, tulle, jersey... Polka dot print silk...

Q4. What colors were important for this season?

Black and Ecru, with accents of color.

Q5. Tell us about the silhouette.

A loose and basic silhouette with a refined boyish silhouette... enriched with transparent layering...

Q6. Do you have a favorite piece in the collection?

My Favorite is the boyfriend sweater with organza frills at hem... It looks like a coctail dress worn under a grungy oversized sweater. That's the kind of contrast that epitomizes ETERNAL CHILD.

Q7. What is your design process?

It's an organic process that defines itself... We're a knitwear originated brand, so yarns and knit structures play an important part... And because I am a graphic designer prints also play a major role... I collect all ideas and clippings and sketches and something's always stand out ad fall together... We do a lot of work on paper and computer before we start realization of the pieces... And during production things can change as well... Especially in knitwear...

Adelaide and Addition Adelaide Tokyo, Barneys Tokyo, Harvey Nichols London and Hong Kong, Aloha Rag New York, Fred Segal and Ron Herman Los Angeles, Beymen Istanbul, Saks Fifth Avenue Direct, Barneys Tokyo and others.

Eternal childは2006年SSシーズンよりスタートしたニットウェアコレクションのブランド。
様々なゲージで編んだラグジュアリーなニットが中心で、エレガントでモダンな幾何学パターンと、ジャガードテクニックがこのブランドのシグネチャースタイルになっている。
デザイナーのGul GurdamarはイスタンブールのMimar Sinan Univercityでグラフィックデザインを学び、ロンドンのSt.Martins collegeでCommunication Designの修士号を取得。現在はN.Yを拠点にしてコレクションを発表している。09/AWより初のleather collectionを発表。
